Have you noticed usually every time you order ice water somewhere they ask if you would like lemon? Well there’s a good reason for that! Lemon water provides outstanding benefits for your body. Lemon water aids in digestion and detoxification by helping to keep food moving through your body and gastrointestinal tract.
Another good reason to drink lemon water is because lemons are loaded with vitamin C. Vitamin C helps your immune system function properly which in return helps keep colds and sickness away. This reason along is a great reason to start.
Lemon water also helps keep your skin looking fresh and clear. Once you begin drinking more of it you will notice a difference in your skin.
Lemons contain pectin this is a type of fiber found in fruit that helps you feel full longer. This will help cut back on over eating which eventually can lead to weight loss!
You can begin drinking more lemon water by having a cup first thing in the morning. Try drinking it warm this adds to the benefits. Try warming water, add some fresh lemon juice or a lemon wedge. You can also try adding a teaspoon of honey, ginger, or cinnamon. You can add lemon to a bottle of water and drink it first thing in the morning to “wake” your organs up.
